As for the question about how we shift from an environment in which content is free to one in which you charge for it. Lawrence Lessig has written a great book about "hybrid economies" where commercial entities leverage value from sharing economies. The book is called Remix and is released under a Creative Commons license and is itself an example of how something that's given away for free ( the book ) can create opportunities for profit
( Mr. Lessig's public appearances ). All that said, it's a great book about remix culture, the future of copyright law, and the relationships between commercial and sharing economies.

When we kicked off this project, we only had a small idea of what we were getting ourselves into. This thing just kept getting more and more awesome with every step. The final result is a huge credit to our designers and (especially) our developers for embracing the unknown and delivering a solution that really looks like something from the future.

And, as always, big thanks to Red Square for being great friends and champions of great work.

Congrats to all at the Square. We should also point out that one of our Red Shirts (Red Square Agency interns), Alicia Reeves, won a Gold ADDY in the student competition as well as Best of Show ADDY in the student category.
