The Nationwide "frame" logo- which looks way better as a logo for Polaroid as Marty Neumeier once pointed out- was the beginning- I'm hoping we see an end soon. MTV is an iconic brand- sticking "artist of the day" inside it doesn't change things- it just makes it busy. If I was to update it- I'd clean up the TV type- I'm not a fan of the sprayed on look- but other than that- it needed no help. What the brand stands for... well, that's another matter.
