The Latest from Red Square

Welcome to our blog. It's a place where we post stuff we like. Latest work, inspiration, pop culture minutiae, you get the idea. Enjoy.

Of note.

With all of today’s modern technology, hand-written notes are becoming more and more of a lost art form. Being the stationery nerd that I am, when someone takes the time to write a hand-written note on an engraved Les Papiers Jean Rouget – Paris notecard, I tend to notice.

A student from Auburn University recently visited Red Square to tour our offices and learn more about the agency business. I was impressed with her when we first met, but I was even more impressed when I received a hand-written thank you note in the mail.

Let me just say, there are thank you notes, and then there’s this one. Her handwriting is impeccable, and she is adept at creating an illustration out of letterforms. Check out the ultra creative hand-drawn design on the front of the envelope—matching stamp and all.

Job seekers take note: If you want to make a good impression, take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. This young lady will be applying for our summer internship, and her thoughtful, well-crafted gesture has given her an edge over the competition before the games have even begun.

Totally love this post! The penned word will always trump the email and the phone call in my book, but your visitor certainly took her note to another level! Bravo!

I used to work with Lane at the Auburn Plainsman. Her illustration is as sharp as her writing. Take her on if you need a writer or illustrator.
